Coheed and Cambria Concert Live at Rogers Place | Edmonton – August 17th, 2026
The Palace Theatre in Calgary is one of those historic gems that just oozes character and stories. Since opening its doors over a century ago, it’s seen just about everything from legendary concerts to memorable premieres. Walking inside feels like stepping back in time with its vintage charm, but it still packs a punch with modern comfort, like the coat check that saves you from lugging around your winter gear on those chilly Calgary nights. Fun fact: in 1976, to mark Canada’s 100th birthday, the theatre showcased a whole lineup of Canadian movies, giving the crowd a real sense of pride. Fast forward to 2018, the Palace hosted the premiere of a notable Canadian theatrical production, reaffirming its place as a hub for national arts. If you’re aiming for the best seat in the house, the center orchestra really hits the sweet spot, perfect for catching all the action right in front. But if you’re into a bit of a left-side view, the Mezzanine offers a great vantage point without breaking the bank. Getting there is pretty straightforward, just head north on 4th Street SW towards Eighth Avenue or walk from the Calgary Board of Education along Sixth Avenue then turn onto First Street SW. It’s a venue that’s seen it all, and every time I go, I feel like I’m part of something special, like catching a glimpse of Calgary’s rich cultural heartbeat.
